car is acting up
Hello my fellow monte carloers, for about 2 weeks now my car has been having issues, what happens is that at low rpm (up to 2k) the car has no power. It is most noticeable when it gets to running temperature and you take off from a dead stop but it does it in every gear
There is also plunging sometimes. Above 2k rpm the car runs great. I would say egr. Valve but I have gotten a check engine light. Thank you

My first impulse possibly would suspect a plugged cat. My second impulse is is some maintenance may just need done. Here's a thread full of ideas:

You gotta watch it with that Seafoam. I know a lot of members love the stuff and swear by it. It's fun stuff, but it can plug a cat up. Try CataClean. Its the only product I know of designed to clean the converter
I don't think it is the cat. If it was he would have lack of power throughout the rpm range, difficulty pulling hills, intermittent misfire amd erratic shifting.
I'm thinking along the lines of a binding IAC or a binding throttle plate.
binding = carbon buildup.

It is not the cat, I took co2 sensor off to release pressure and drove like that and still did the sane thing, plus I've checked the cat several times after driving and it is not red .
I'm thinking mike is right, so what should I do?
