Default Uh oh, guage cluster acting up!!!

I get woken up this morning by my gf telling me her van is running funny, she's scared to drive it. I get up and go check it out, yup, it's running funny. It kinda feels like it's missing, i'm hoping it's a spark plug/distributor cap/plug wire issue. Anyways, I go to take her to work and when I start my car up and notice the mph and rpm needles both peg but only the rpm needles goes back to normal while the mph needle is stuck at 60mph. WTF?? So I take her to work and it stays like that the whole time. When I get home and turn the car off, I noticed it fell about 5-10 mph when I did so, so I keep turning it on and off till the needle falls back to 0. I leave for work a couple hours later and it's working fine.

Now, I leave work to come home and the mph needle is still working, but my rpm needle is well below 0 and not moving at all. I get to a stoplight and rev it and it eventually starts to work again, but the movement is no longer smooth, it's more like that of the second hand on a watch/clock, and it basically stops working once I reach 2nd gear. My temp and gas guages work normally. This is crazy, anyone had any similar problems? What did it take to fix it?

Is this a growing problem with these NYCRISS??? Seems like we are starting to hear of more instances of cluster problems...
