Once an O2 sensor has worn out... Theres no cleaning one and reuseing it... You simply have to replace it... DONOT buy a BOSCH... They are junk... It may work for a little while...but they tend to fail rather quickly...
Purchase an OEM replacement. and eliminate the problem all together..

They are all located 1 in front of the catalytic converter and 1 after it..

Generally youll get an CEL (Check engine light)... Then you go to your local auto parts and have them put the scanner into the OBDII port and it will give you code numbers that directly relate to bad 02 sensors...
If you don't have a "CEL" then there doing there job.

Is it running poorly? (Misfiring)... If not... I would run some injector cleaner thru it (Pour ti in the tank) Try also a higher Grade of gas...
Whens the last time you did a tune up or an oil change?(fluid and filter)
Tune up consist's of plugs and wires...

If you haven't done it recently...I would highly recommend a tune up!!!
also the oil should be changed every 3 months or every 3000 miles...
These Monte Carlo's run there very best with a regular Maintenance program!

If you don't have a regular Maintenance program... I would start one immediately...

The better you take care of it.... The longer and more reliable it will be!
Including fuel Mileage.... (I would also change the fuel filter)

Its also recommended... Don't run these cars on Empty... Try to always keep a minimum of a quarter to half a tank in it at all times..

Its also recommended to do a Transmission fluid filter change minimally every 2 yrs!

Most (if not all) modern cars have a heated O2. The heating element eventually fails. David covered a great amount of material about issues with a potentially failing O2. Some recommend trying to stay ahead of a failure and replace them around 100k miles.
