Default Anyone replaced your Oxygen Sensors?

Is there any special tools, besides a sensor socket. How hard is getting to the front one? Any info would be great. Thanks

I have never replace an O2 sensor on my Monte carlo but I have replaced several on other cars. Make sure you buy the OE type that has the already assembled connector for your car. I did a google search and bought mine on line much cheaper than the local parts stores. I have never used the special socket to remove the sensor just a box end wrench. You may have to heat up the exhaust pipe to get it to free. Dont forget to use the anti seize before you reinstall the new one.

You mean REplaced? Yes, many- just used an O2 socket or a wrench depending on the car/location. Luckily I've never had one that was unusually stubborn.

Thanks for the thoughts. I thought the last time I was under the car, the front sensor looked to be in a tight space. I will find out when the weather breaks here in a few weeks. THanks again, and this site has some nice people. later

It is tight against the firewall on a 3800, but if you undo the dogbones, and rock the engine forward- you'll have plenty of room back there.
