I have an 86 Monte that I was doing a 396 build-up on but I've decided a 383 will be a lot less headache. I want to make about 450-500hp at the flywheel on this motor on a 2500 to 4000 budget just on the motor. I've already got a good rotating assembly. scat crank forged pistons (dished) etc... My issue I'm having is keeping the compression low enough to make the power I want while avoiding race fuel. The pistons are 8.5 to 1. I'm looking for a good suggestion(s) on a head around 200cc / 64 or 76cc. Also its gonna have a solid lift cam around .560 to .600. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
