Default 305 with nitrous?

I have an 86 SS and I was wondering what needs to be done to run it safetly. I dont want to run anything big, maybe a 50 or 75 shot. What needs to be done? Nitrous cam? Or is the stock setup able to handle it ok? It would be used rarely but i still want to have it. Anyone have any idea?

with a small shot you should be fine, its when you go larger that you shold look into a new cam

im not 100% good with engines, but im pretty sure it would be fine, i would wait for someone more experienced to answer but im thinking you would be fine, especially if it wasn't used a ton

50-75hp shot is not very much at all. That'll take a 305 from 180hp to 230-255hp (at the crank). You can do this on a stock build, but just remember that the more that you improve engine wise, the more power you will make.

i was talking to NX when i was doing nitrous for my 3400 V6 and they said a stock motor can take 20 hp per piston.
so if you want nitrous on your motor just make sure that your fuel pump is good.make sure your pressure dont go to low.
