04 S/C Monte Carlo gas gauge

Default 04 S/C Monte Carlo gas gauge

so the past couple days my gas gauge has been acting up I started it once and the needle spun all the way around and now the needle with fluctuate from time to time car has 55k on it..anybody have any ideas what it could be?

Most likely the fuel level sensor has gone south. You can pick up a dorman one and replace it! Your able to access the fuel tank from the trunk so its a pretty easy fix

Since you mention the needle spun around, I am suspecting the stepper motor in the instrument cluster is failing. These motors in the cluster are fairly common to fail unfortunately.
I know there is a write up on MCF regarding how to change them.
