Need some info on cleaning under the hood. De greasing and such. What cleaners should I use and should anything be covered up?

a lot of people recommend simple green products.

I used lots of meguiars quick detailer after I gave it a good spray down with a power washer.

One thing to be careful of is trying to keep the water off of the electrical things, like the fuse box and battery area, also the fans.

 

I use simple green which reminds me I need to buy some more.

 

I use an All Purpose Cleaner.. I use Meguiars brand of APC..

Ive made a basic how to vid of it under the Detailing vids thread. The last part of it as far as dressing it up after cleaning I still need to make

 

I do a 3 part system. First i use a degreaser and a power washer, like trewyn said avoiding electical. 2nd part i soak the engine bay with off the counter tire shine for that wow factor. 3rd let is sit for a little bit, then wipe the greasy areas.
