It read 30mph while parked in my driveway after a day trip one day. I've done the switch to ACC then ON then back to OFF and that works sometimes.
I've raised the front end up and removed the wheel/tire. Gotten under it and still cant remove it. I may remove the inner wheel well and see if that will help ?
Thanks guys.
My wife's 2005 impala SS and my 2005 monte SS did the same , I had to replace the stepper motor on the speedo .. Got the motors on ebay bought 6 for $28 shipped ..

Default vss

Well, after 3 tries and breaking the connector plug to the vss I had to take my car to my mechanic and he was able to install the new vss and a new connector. He commited just how hard it was to work in that area. So far, it appears to have solved the issue. I hope that I don't have to order a new stepper motor ?

Anyone have a wiring diagram of the VSS and the electrical connector? I have a 2004 3.4L and my speedometer doesn't work. I have taken it in and had the speedometer rebuilt, put in a new VSS but still doesnt work. Only thing I can really think of doing is changing out the connector but dont know where it runs to. Anyone have a diagram of where the VSS connector runs to and how to switch it out?

I'm finding this thread very helpful, but i too was wondering if anyone had a schematic of wiring harness and locations.
i'm looking at replacing the VSS in the rear driver assembly, but if its not the sensor and it is the wiring harness, its very hard to follow.

also does anyone know where i can purchase rear left wiring harness for VSS, i can only find front end harnesses.
Even dealership can't find it in their computers, they're useless

THis thread has been dead for a number of years. Many of the members are no longer active. I see you started a thread but it's asking for ground locations. I suggest starting a new thread explaining more about your problem, what you have done and the help you are looking for.
