2003/6th generation
Monte Carlo SS
Yokohoma
225/60R16
7.5

Bought my used Monte with these Yokohoma's on it, they're absolutely horrendous in the snow, I slid all over hell. They have good wet road traction, like after rain, and good dry road traction. They are actually very quiet tires, I don't hear them, even though the front ones are going bald. They didn't last too long, probably because I did too many burnouts. IMO

Year/Gen: 2000 / 6th Gen
Model: Monte SS
Brand: Goodyear RS-A
Size: 16"
Rating 1-10: 6
Review: These are the stockers, I have kept them on my car for 9 years now. They honestly haven't been a bad tire for me, though I know there is much better out there. I used to live in the Poconos with harsh winters, and I never had any troubles in my Monte. It will be nice when I get a new set of rims though to have a set for summer / winter.

They say YK520 on the side, they're H rated tires, good up to 130MPH, and fairly expensive too. At Discount Tire they quoted me $110 per tire, I'm still trying to decide what to replace them with, might stick with the same brand, Yokohoma seems like a good sport or all season tire, generally good reviews.

Winter tires are Goodyear Ultra Grip 235-55-17. BEST winter tire I've had in YEARS! (Wait a minute, they're the ONLY winter tires I've had in years!!!)
I gotta say, after buying some top of the line Michelin Pilot all seasons, and being disappointed in the tread life, these tires at a fraction of the price of the Michelins are hands down THAT much better than ANY all season tire I've EVER used!
Are they the best? Can't say. What I CAN say is if you're driving your Monte year round in snowland like many of us do, get some WINTER TIRES! Remember, your tires are the ONLY thing between you and the road. Brakes don't stop your car, tires stop your car. Many people think tires are tires. WRONG! Get some winter tires for yourself.
