Default Tires/Rims

Where can I find a good set up factory sized Rims (aftermarket bulit style) for MC LT 2007? and can the 17" get any wider and still not rub? i.e. 6", 7" 8" etc...

Why stick with 17s, and not go with 18s or bigger? Your car comes with a short tire, and 1st off I would recommend going to a bigger tire. Stock is a 225/55-17, 7.0" rim, 7.1" tread width, 26.8" tall, & 26 lbs. Where an SS uses a 235/50-18, 7.5" rim, 8.3" tread width, 27.3" tall, &27 lbs.

I personally run 245/45-18s in the summer, and 235/55-17s in the winter (on my '04).

A 245/45-18 has TONS of room, fits a 8.5" rim, 8.5" tread width, 27" tall, but 29 lbs. You can go taller and wider, but they get heavier FAST.

Compare wheels here:

And check out tire spec's for tire size info here, as an example (my summer tires):

Remember, you can counteract tire weight by selecting lighter wheels.

Please note also that bigger isn't always better. Example: Check out the above link for both 245/45-18 & 255/45-18. Same dimensions, but more rubber, 2 lbs more rubber at 31 lbs. The 255 is overkill, and will affect ride, performance, AND gas mileage.

Good luck, and let us know what you pick, or if you narrow it down, show us what you have in mind.
