Default Tire Pressure Monitors...

Looking to get a set of wheels/tires for the summer season with this paycheck tomorrow and what I can't seem able to find is wether or not the TPM sensors from Tire Rack will be accepted by our Montes? I know how to relearn the tire positions after I rotate the tires but I can't recall ever hearing anything about how to match new sensors with a car, would it be something I would have to have the dealer do?

The whole reason I want to order new ones would be so that when the seasons change all I have to do is take off one set of wheels and put the other set on without having to mess with the tires and sensors. If I have to get the sensors mated to the car each time it'd kinda defeat the purpose of getting new sensors wouldn't it?

yeah i would say it would. but honestly that might be somethign to get a hold of the stealership to ask on it.
Im sure one of thier techs will know.

i would just ask if you get a set of winter wheels and summer wheels and put the sensors in both do you have to ge tthe computer flashed each time or not.

Yeah, that's true, I do need to get it changed each time as they're going to be different sizes. I might end up going without the sensors in the summer tires to start with and then get them put in later.

Even my dealership didn't know how to repair the sensor. They had to send it to a third-party tire shop/specialist.

sensors are a pain in my butt, I always have to get them reset at times, they arn't so accurate, I got my tires checked by the air pressure gauge and all four were set at 40psi and the computer in the car was telling me they were 36 to 39, that i was under and that wasn't accurate.

Here is a good tip, got a DISCOUNT TIRE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?
If so they reset mine for free, they are real cheap to have them install them or switch the sensors from one set of tires to the other set.

If you don't have a discount tire, ask a goodyear store or another tire store where you live.

I have seen tire sensors on ebay, and just search for them online from other places and you can find them, their out there.

I wish I would have got mine switched over. Because everytime I turn on the car the "Check tire monitoring system" message appears. I have just gotten used to just checking it off everytime.

Well turns out TireRack is going to install some sensors that should be compatible and I just finalized the order today after some backorder problems so I should have them here sometime at the end of next week at the latest I was told.

Unfortunately there isn't much around here in this little 3k people town, but I can hit up some places in Rapid if I do end up needing anything else.

Thanks guys.
