Default SS rims and Tire size question

I just added the Monte to use as a cruiser, something to drive on nice days.

I like the look of the factory SS wheels but I want to fill the rear wheel wells.

I think these SS wheels are 7" wide. How big a tire can I put on them, looking for both width and height. CUrrently the tires are 205/65/15

I intend to drop the nose as well for a little more rake.

I used the search but couldn't find what i am looking for.

Maybe some of you could post their 4th Gen cars with these wheels and the tire sizes?

Probably not what you are looking for, but lowered 2". Sorry I can't help any more than that.

The biggest I had on the back of my '86 were 235/75R15. The biggest I had on the front were 225/75R15. The fronts would clear when turned, but if I hit a bump to hard the tire would rub the top of the wheel well

I'm running 245 on the front and 275 on the rear. No rubs anywhere and stochastic height all the way around.

Might be alittle late to post on this but im running 255/60r15's all the way around on my 86SS. I definitely want to get a set of factory wheels though for when the mood strikes.

PC Surgeon:

Looks great! A coupla questions:
What do you mean by 'stochastic'?
What size rims/wheels are you using? Do you (or anyone) have any idea what range of rim/wheel sizes and tire sizes I could put on my '86 SS? And what, if any, the various combo's would do in terms of performance, especially cornering, vs just replacing the 215 65 R15 Goodyear Eagles that came with it? I'm especially interested in Mickey Thompson tires, but have had no luck so far in getting anyone to help me figure out what is available that would fit.

Tire Size Calculator

this is a helpful tool for figuring out tire sizes for what you have vs. what you want
