7th Gen ('06-'07): MistreSS Brake Work + Bottom Detail
#11
I finished my brake work the other night. Took me about 3.5 hours to reinstall everything while being extra careful and paying attention to detail. All new grease in the brake components. Anti-seize on the hub face where the rotor seats. New pad retainers installed on the brackets. For pads, I decided to go with the tried and true ACDelco performance pads, the same pads that came off the car. I can say I’m extremely happy with the end result. It’s a little unfortunate that most of this will be hidden behind the stock wheels but enough will be visible and the red should pop nicely and tie in well with my red engine cover.
And I spent a little time yesterday detailing the rear undercarriage, washing the wheels and tires, polishing the lug nuts and the lug recesses in the wheels. I’m pleasantly surprised at the condition of the undercarriage, and how well it cleans up, considering the car has seen winters in the past and has 95,490 miles. I'm remounting the wheels and getting the car back on the ground later today.
