Default Lowering car is not for everyone!

I just decided in removing my SSC spring from my 06 about a month in. I just can't handle the ride quality and noise. I'm the kind of owner that if I hear one noise I can't drive comfortably until it is fixed and now my Monte sounds like a tin can with rocks. It sounds like its falling apart. I also installed the shorter dog bones which did help overall but I won't be able to stand it. Who knew 1" was going to be so bad. It also didn't help that the rears never settled and still is at stock height (front is lower than the rear).

I'll replace the fronts this holiday weekend and replace the rears end of the month on my vacation and try to sell them on ebay. Ill also be throwing in the pogo washers and 2 camber bolts that I didn't need.

I guess I'll enjoy lowered Montes from pics only.

I usually recommend people don't lower their daily driver.

I agree, the ride stiffness just isn't for anyone. Question, did you ever upgrade your struts or did you just add lowering springs?

i'll x2 on that especially if you plan on driving it in winter and there is more to lowering than just tossing in springs if you want a good quality ride, like Mike asked did you upgrade your struts?

the damping rate(s) and the spring rate(s) need to be matching for a good ride otherwise it's either going to be way too harsh (damping>springs) or really bouncy (springs>damping).

New struts installed. x3 on daily driver. It might look good and for once in a while drive acceptable but not for daily driver. It sucks just hope someone will want to buy them so I won't loose much $. Chalk one up for life experience.

Very good explanation, when I saw the topic of this I thought, I might like to buy them? I'm exactly the same way you are though, all the noise would irratate the hell out of me. Good luck selling and it sucks that it wasn't meant to be.......

On a smooth highway/road there's really only a small difference from stock. Its when you get to the city streets that it becomes a burden. Small potholes and bumps just causes an uneasy where you have to slow down to avoid the thump. I might of kept it longer if it weren't for the rear not changing at all. I'll post some recent pics tomorrow from work to see the stance better.

I'll be selling them later. PM me if anyone is interested. I've give a good deal to get rid of them.

Here's a recent pic. It's too bad about the rear though.

My 2004 SS is lowered with SSC springs and KYB struts. The ride isnt all that bad. It's not my daily driver though so it really doesnt bother me. The stance the car has outweighs the litttle rougher ride to me. if you park next to a stock height Monte you can definitely tell the difference. I have almost no wheel well gap.
