Red face whether or not lowering changes ride????

Im interested in lowering my car via, zzp lowering prings, all new struts, dobgbones, etc. but im discouraged because im unsure if lowering the car will give me a rougher ride. I live in Maryland where potholes are our neighbors, and we are very kin to snow, and all other harsh winter weather. Can the team of great monte enthusiast please give me the best advice possible. Thanks.

Yes, it probably will give you a rougher ride - but my Honda is lowered and it rides really well surprisingly.

I probably wouldn't do it for a year round driver, you will be pushing snow up with your air dam, stiffer ride, vibrations just on idle.

If your car needs new struts to begin with, just replacing those will tighten your suspension up a bunch, also some strut tower braces. You could be happy with just doing that?

i agree chibii....in terms of handling stability i would be ok with the front and rear sway bars, in addition to the new struts, but would those be the only upgrades i could do besides the actual lowering springs to increase my handling?

There's plenty you can use to upgrade your handling. Replacing worn control arm bushings, or the control arms for stronger ones, stronger tie rods, trailing arms, sway bars, etc.

As long as it doesn't flood in your area you should be fine. And your car should ride a little rougher, granted I've never ridden in a lowered Wbody. Just beware, the snow + a lowered car = snowplow.

lowering will change your ride with varying degrees depending on the parts you buy. you get crap spings with this heavy car it gonna be a bumpy ride. you get good springs and mabey so adjustable struts you should beable to adjust the stiffness pretty close to your original ride.
or you could go with true adjustable coilovers. you could bring those up in the winter and down in the summer in minutes. but they are pricey
