Hello, I thought I see a list of suspension parts to rebuild the suspension on our Montes... Does anyone know where the post is or , was there a post with the info on it... I just want an example of all of the stuff I need to make my ride NEW AGAIN... New sway bar bushings, struts from n rear.... Etc... Any help would be great.. Thanks again...mjclemm...

 

I just replaced my sway bars. I had found some info way back when I first bought my Monte, but I think this info came from the 2000MonteNet forum.

Option #1 (2000-2005)


GM has a Handling Upgrade Kit p/n 12456148 (GMPartsDirect $133.89) which included the following:

• P/N 12498643 Heavy Duty Front Sway Bar w/insulator and end links (34mm hollow bar, but better than stock)
• P/N 12498642 Heavy Duty Rear Sway Bar w/insulators (hollow bar, but better than stock)
• P/N 12456148 Strut Tower Brace

Option #2 (2000-2005)


Buy the parts you want or need:

• P/N 12498643 Kit: Heavy Duty Front Sway Bar w/insulator and end links (34mm hollow bar, but better than stock) (GMPartsDirect $58.36)
  • 10404184 Sway Bar
  • 10403402 End Links
  • 10403188 Bushings
• P/N 10351314 Solid rear sway bar from the GP Comp G (solid bar ) (GMPartsDirect $49.67)
• P/N 10351313 (1) Bushing for rear sway bar (GMPartsDirect $5.88)
• P/N 10409660 Rear trailing arm - Round Tubular (looks heavy duty) (DISCONTINUED) (note: GMPartsDirect will show a $45.33 but once you add it to your cart you get p/n 25990164 below)
• P/N 25990164 Rear trailing arm - 7/8" Square Solid (does not look heavy duty) (GMPartsDirect $24.35)
• P/N 12456148 Strut Tower Brace ~ (1) Brace (GMPartsDirect $27.45)
• P/N 12498648 Strut Tower Brace Kit ~ (2) Braces (GMPartsDirect $24.41) (IT IS CHEAPER THAN BUYING ONE SINGLE BRACE )

Non-GM Parts (2000-2005):

• MOOG K80812 (2) Front Bushings
• MOOG K6662 (2) Rear End Links
• I guess Dorman makes a soild front sway bar but I could not find it
