Question Launching With No Traction!

So recently dropped from stock pulley to a 3.4 and got tuned...now it's difficult catching traction! Lol any tips or tricks you guys have or use when launching to help catch traction?

One thing that comes to mind, better tires that have better grip to the road. Possibly upgrades to your suspension (exactly what, I'm not sure)....

Better wider tires.

Knowing how to launch a FWD car

Brake and rev until about 2500, let off the brake and ease into the throttle a tiny bit, then mash.

I have brand new bf Goodrich super sport tires. however they are stock size lol have you guys raced by manually shifting until you reach overdrive before? I heard your suppose to race with your car on 3rd til you reach 70 then throw it in D?

Racing and shifting depends what you're doing. Such as when I auto cross, if it's an auto, I place it in 2nd (so it does not up shift beyond 2nd) if it's a stick, I don't shift beyond second and typically keep it there. The reason is that shifting takes time or being in the wrong gear looses speed on an autocross course.

To be honest, I personally think in straight line racing (such as a drag race), that manually shifting an auto trans is fruitless. You would probably see better gains having the trans shifting in your PCM re-tuned.

Just my two cents on the subject.

NEVER manually shift these cars.

Get a transmission update in your tune, and keep it in 3. You don't want to run hard in D ever. 4th Gear will burn out on you. 3 should be plenty high enough for any track.
