My front R wheel bearing went out about 5 days ago. The sound has gotten louder. I have driven 30 miles a day on it since. How long before it goes out? is this a fix that needs to be taken care of immediately or can it wait a hundred more miles? Thank you for your help!

 

I would fix it ASAP. Because if it fails completely, you will definately know it. And the terrible feeling of having 3 wheels on the car while you're still moving.

 

Get it fixed asap. I have a friend who had a bad bearing in his car and he got away with it for over a year, till the tire came off and he slid into the wall on the highway. thousands of dollars for body work needed now when he could have paid less than $200 for that part and labor.

 

It'll run at least another few months. TRUST ME!

How long can you run on a broken ankle before it shatters. Id say risk it.

1 of 2 things will happen. Either the wheel WILL fall off, or the wheel WILL stop turning completely, as in seized up.

 

I found a timken hub at wheelbearingwharehouse.com for $110 shipped. the timken is made in USA an has a 1 year warranty.
