Wheel bearing going bad??
When I drive down the road with the windows up and the radio off, I hear this sound coming from one or more of the wheels. Its like a constant noise kind of like a whirring. At first I thought that I might have bent a wheel, but now I believe I might have a bearing going out. Any ideas?? It happens at any speed above 30 or so.

actually wheel bearings are pretty easy and cheep and you might not have to replace it just repack it. is your car 4 wheel disk or disk and drum? just go to carquest bearings will run you prolly about 10 bucks a piece plus some bering grease they aint hard to replace its a half hour job prolly shop shouldnt do it for too much it is basic maintenence i think. i repack my bearings atleast once a year.

Yes thats just like mine, its a hmm hmm hmm at low speeds, at high speeds I dont hear it at all, but at high speeds its another story. Above 65 I get a slight vibration which I think is either a bent wheel or prob my tires are out of balance. The weird thing is above about 80 it goes away kinda.
And to everybody else, I have a 2002 MC LS with 60,000 on it, 4 wheel disc w/ABS
wizkid: how does your 2005 only have 7000 miles on it??

it sat for about 6 months not used...low miles...
and i have a auto parts store up here..and one of our mechanics said that its most likely a tire out of balance for mine if it goes away @ 60 or so because if it was a bearing it would just get worse the faster you go...
