Default Cut Springs

I've got a '95 Monte, and I'm going to cut the springs. I want to get about 1.5 to 2 inches off what I've got. I'd like to hear other's experiances with cut springs, and tips. How much should I cut off? Do I need to do any alterations to the spring after cutting? Some help would be great, thanks!

I have a set of rear lowering spring..brand new unused (still in the box in my garage).. that's a 1.3 inch drop ... for 150.00 + shipping. Rather than cutting the spring..As cutting the springs really isn't a good idea. IMO.

I understand broke but cutting springs is a very bad idea. In the long run it will cost you more. Even if you save just a few pennies a month to put towards a good set of lowering springs and/or drop spindles will last much longer and make you much happier.
