Default Corrosion Under the Car

Ok we all know the auto makers have to live by rules of corrosion control for 100K miles and 10 years. All of the bare metal parts under my car are rusted and looks like it is scaling in some areas. The floor pan etc. is 100% perfect. It is a southern car with 50K miles / 2004 SC-MC.

I was just looking at some pictures of another car's shock towers on this forum and noticed the rust on the bolt and around the inside of the tower where there is exposed metal.

Has anyone else noticed this? I can just imagine what some of the cars up North look like.

Has anyone or does anyone know where the limits of the warranty stop. I would like to have GM replace all of this for free if it is remotely possible

Please contribute to this if you know anything about the warranty for corrosion, or at least let me know what your thoughts are and how your ride is holding up.

Well, there is about 4 inches of snow on the ground and it is still kickin hard out there so I'm not gonna check anytime soon.

I also park my Monte in the winter and use the Blazer so it would be a bad comparison. I do need to repair/paint the lower connections though.

My 2 cents on this subject: I hope I didn't misunderstand you but I think I found an answer in a car manual. It basically states that any part under a vehicle that is not painted isnotaffected by surface rust. I think they are refering to the drive shaft, differential and axle parts, etc. So I doubt if a dealer would replace an unpainted, rusting item under a vehicle unless it is a safety issue.
