Default '98 Grand Prix Front Sway Bar

So, I went to change the brakes on dad's '98 Grand Prix and while I had the wheels off, I noticed the sway bar is broke on one side and almost broke on the other (so it needs replaced).

So I have 2 questions:
1. - If I'm not mistaken, the front sway bar from my '04 Monte should fit his '98 Grand Prix, right?

2. - I'm having trouble finding any performance upgrade type sway bars. Are there any out there?

If there is a fair price on a performance upgrade sway bar, I can probably get my father to float me a few bucks, in exchange he gets my old sway bar (that is in really good condition).

Yes they will interchange, my roommate has the front bar on her 98 GP Daytona from my 02 Monte. Hers was broken also, I upgraded to the GMPP handling kit.

yes they fit. the 97-03 grand prix front way bars are weak they do break. my father's 02 gtp front/rear sways and trailing arms are off 2004 monte carlo ss. you might want to upgrade the trailing arms too cuz they are weak as well and tend to bend or twist. while you changing the sways replace the sway end links too. they only cost like $10 at orielly/autozone. 2004 plus grand prix, and 2004 monte carlo/impala will work if you can find them used. not sure how far you are from ed morad but i'm sure he have some in stock.

So, am I hearing that GM changed the '04+ W-body sway bars to be a little better? If so, any ideas how?

Morad (as in Morad Motorsports) is a place Chibi mentioned to me and I learned they are about 15 minutes from my work (I have yet to make a stop in, but I now know about them).

What is the difference in the GMPP sway bar compared to the stock ones on the W-Bodies (or are they the same)?
