2002 monte ss squeaking

Default 2002 monte ss squeaking

hello guys i have a 2002 monte carlo and it squeaks in the front every time i hit a bump.
it only squeaks in the front. do you guys have any idea what that could be?

we had a old rustang for the wife that did this also.
it was the front struts on it. but i was told to check the springs to see if they were hitting on anything also.

also wouldn't be a bad thing to hit it up with a greese gun if you have one. just as a general maintainance thing.

Try to push down on the front end to reproduce the squeaking. If you can, open the hood and check where it's coming from. Look for excess wear in the area.

If it's hard to tell exactly where the squeek is coming from you can use an old mechanic's trick: Cut a piece of hose about 3 ft long (old water hose works fine) and hold one end up to your ear while moving the other end to different spots. You can hear the noise easily and pinpoint exactly where the noise is.
