My first quick race was against my friends 2000 V6 Rustang. After work we take the turn left towards the interstate and only one lane goes in while the other two goes into the service roads. I knew he wanted to race cause he waited for me to leave or lot first and trailed behind me. Once we started to merge in to the highway I got on the lane next to me to give him some room. Once I saw him try to creep up on me I gunned it. He was at about my door when I left him standing. It was embarrasing actually. I stopped when I hit 100 and had about a couple of bus lenghts on him. I see what he tells me tommorrow.

My next one I'm actually baffeled by it. I turned from the soutboud highway to go west bound. As I merge west I see this yellow Charger with the cowl hood painted black behind me. He was a few cars behind me and I knew he wanted some. I saw him take the lane to the left of me and I saw that it was an R/T. I slow down to about 50mph and he quickly catches up to me. I knew I was going to get creammed but I though what the heck. There were cars in front of our lanes but they were still way ahead of us. Once he got next to me I tested if he wanted to go with a quick burst. He stayed next to me. 2 seconds later we I went WOT and from what it seemed he did to. We went for about 5 seconds and he didn't gain an INCH. We were equal untill I let off and braked because of the cars that were comming up and he went to the next lane at WOT. Now unless he could calculate and play with me at my exact same speed, should he not of taken me quite easily. Once I let off it looked like he wasnt playing at all. How can the 3.9 stack up to the R/T?

 

Power to weight ratio... those chargers are heavy... like over 3800lbs heavy. Plus, he could have been hauling bodies in the trunk. Who knows.

Either that Charger was not on it all the way and just messing with youor he didn't downshift and you did. Even though they are heavy they have a lot of motor and they are not slow by no means. As for the Rustang V6, 5 speed, I out ran one in my G/F's 04 LS from a stop and a roll, and he is a good driver.

 

yea those charger R/T's are no joke. he probably was not gunning it. You definitely would not want to race one of those on the highway. that would not look too good.

 

its' not hard to correctly calculate how fast you are going and match you wtih that fast of a car... it really isn't

 

Well I wished he would of taken off lake a bat out of hell. Whats the point of having an R/T when you do show it off. I wanted to get dusted just to see it move.

 

thats how some guys like to use their car..... i've raced people like that. it's just a fun way to mess with somebody.

 

yea... that R/T was playing with ya.... my brother in his 05 stang GT and his friend with an R/T do the same to me when ever we all get together.

 

R/T's and Daytona R/T's are fast but not that fast LOL.
I have taken them and their siblings the R/T magnum and 300.
Stock.
A moded Daytona R/T walked me on a highway run, he had exaust, tune, intake.

And an R/T look-a-like killed me off a Dig. Caught up with the guy turns out it was an SRT 8 he debaged it and put R/T badges on it LOL.
