thats kind of contridictary, seeing as chevy made the car, and put the badging on it from the factory. if you dont like the way that chevy made them, maybe you should try a mustang.
dont think you are cream of the crop because of the reasons you drive a V8 monte. i wouldnt drive a V8 monte, simply because they have virtually 0 aftermarket parts available. i like to work on and fix up my car, the way i think it should be. to each their own. dont try to be on the forums and diss other peoples monte's ON A MONTE CARLO FORUM. remember, you own one too.
I wrote that quote wrong...my bad. I wasn't talking trash about his Monte, I was saying that Chevy did in fact make non-force induction Cobalt's. Where as the Monte's may have not had the option at first at all, they eventually made it so the SS badge meant more gusto under the hood. But the fact is the Cobalt's are marketed toward the 16-24 range of male drivers, so they came out with Cobalt SS' and "Sport" edition's that were nothing but rims and a body kit.

just for your information the specs above is what your V8 make at the crank not at the wheel. if you have a stock V8 that's making 303 at the crank doesn't mean a squat when come to racing where as you have a V6 making that much whp, the V6 going to smoke you!! 2003supersport makes 249 at the wheel now i think that's impressive. i don't know what the stock V8 ss makes at the wheel, but i'm guessing it's around his numbers or little more. i'm not bashing any V8 but i think it's impressive when a v6 with mods spanking a V8 period... i love the look on their face it's priceless!

everybody have their own opinion when it come to appearance look on their cars. as the matter of fact when i see a monte on the street that look rice out. i want to tell them how f*ck up his/her car looks, but i think i keep to myself cause that would probably get me in trouble.

most members here saw my car in the pass thread and see some different add on i like to do to my car. some like the stock look. other like me would say, screw this i'm going to be little radical!! yeah i have C5 calipers with the "corvette" letters engraved on, mustang wheels, colbalt trunk ss badges, and of course grand prix roof rails. alot of people probably thought it's stupid for putting something that does not belong on the monte. you know what, i don't really care what everyone think of it. i'm doing this for me.

couldnt agree more silverbullitt! mods are just too much fun, so many configurations of things you can do. and the look on their faces as you spank anyone, is great! mostly the challenges though. V8's are fun and i've ran with a charger once or twice, generally dont find any mustangs that want to play except for the cobras, and thats a challenge my car will never take (and win at least) haha. maybe the older ones taht only put 320 to the crank, i can do those haha.

I agree with that for sure...I am by no means a Ford guy at all...but lets be rational..

A 3.9L V6 with a 4 speed auto putting out 242HP will not take a new Mustang GT 99-04 4.6L V8 260HP, 05-Current 4.6L V8 300HP...

My dad has a 02 Mustang GT (again, I am a total GM guy) but his is slightly modded (maybe he makes 280-290 crank HP) with a 5 speed manual...his car hauls ***...

I've driven a V8 SS Monte, which also hauls ***, but I think the race between my dads 02 Stang and a SS Monte would be pretty close, and the Stang would walk away from the Monte after about 120MPH (maybe sooner)...

The newer 05+ Stangs would be about the same, yes they make more power, but they weigh more...

Which brings me to my next point for those of you wonder how I could possibly think my dads 02 GT making about 280-290 crank HP could keep up with, and later walk past a V8 Monte SS 303 HP...The Monte weighs a good 300 LBS more than the Stang...plus the Monte is a 4 speed auto, the Stang is a 5 speed manual...

Like I said, I am not a Ford guy, nor would I ever own one...in fact with the exception of my dads Stang, and sister Toyota, we have always had GM cars...right now 3 out of 5 are GM...

I've driven both cars though, and I can not honestly say the Monte could cream a Stang, even though i'd like too...LOL.

Yeah I thought that was real stupid that the Pontiac Grand Prix got the L67 in 1997, the Pontiac Bonneville got the L67 in 1996 and even the Buick Regal got the L67 in 1997, but the Monte Carlo didn't get it until 2004. Very stupid move on GMs part IMO. By the time the Monte Carlo finally got the L67 it was already too late.

ya that is really dumb, the car that is nascar driven doesnt get the big engine, but the economy car (bonneville) does. i mean, the grand prix should and did get it, and the regals are basically smaller monte's so that makes sense......GM is weird sometimes.

i don't really get it either cause monte carlo from 1970-07 all came with 2 doors and though out all the years 4 doors was never been made. if you look at the rest of the other wide body, like the bonn, regal, and impala they all made as 4 doors sedan later and grand prix as an optional for 4 doors. the monte carlo is a sportier coupe than the rest it should came with supercharged back in 2000.

Let's remember, that depending on the engine those mustang 4.6Ls are pretty slow... if it's the 2v

But back on topic, I do also wish my car came stock with the L67 :P
But that doesn't mean I think less of my car because of it.

I would not call a Bonneville an economy car (I think I know what you are trying to get at yes!) Bonnevilles are VERY nice, and the Bonneville was Pontiacs flagship car...so I think it deserved the L67, and needed it for GM to compete in the sporty luxury car segment...

I totally agree though, GM screwed up not putting the L67 in the Monte Carlo right off the bat...What the hell...And like Matt said, it was a huge name plate in Nascar, yet you can't get the L67...DUH GM...
