Default First Drag Race

Well, in another hour I'll be getting out of work early to head up to Kaukauna's WIR track in Wisconsin to take my car out for the first time.

I've been doing the mental checklist in my head but am extreamly excited. Camcorders charging, friends should be there, drop dog off at parents, ran across the road to borrow a helmet as mine is 120 miles away at the cabin. , and gotta get race gas.

I feel like I did back in high school and the bars whenever I got into a scrap - 10% fear/nervous and 90% excitement and I'm gonna kick some ***.

I'll post pics and videos as soon as I can........ that is if I don't look like a total *** hat.

Or if it rains out which it has been threatening all week. http://www.weather.com/weather/local...om=search_city

hey the last time my car went to the strip, if it won't for me, my freinds cobra 'stang would have been the slowest car at the track. by the time you're reading this, it'l probably be too late, so don't feel too bad if you were one of the slower cars... remember, those guys who beat your butt to death probably can't drive on teh street.

Well traction sucked and one of the workers directed me past the water hole to do my burnout, hell not my track and it did the job, but in the end it was a pretty good run.

14.3 @ 96.25 mph

Following mods - Dynomax Exhaust, Wizaired CAI, 3.4 Pulley, SLP 1.8 Rockers, Ported and Polished SLP Headers, MSP Polyurethane Mounts, DHP PCM, Autolite 104's, 180 T-Stat, 110 Octane.

I think if I would have bit instead ofspun at the lineI would be 14.1, possibly less. Tire pressure was at 15 lbs in the front, 30 in the back.

I'm running Goodyear RSA's but they are pretty darn worn. I'm right about the legal limit now. Next mod will be getting tires. Goodyear TripleTred.

Awesome Dan! I figured you were going to be running low 14's, high 13's...

I'm glad things went as well, now you have a baseline for after you install your Gen V!!

Congratulations!!

good runs man, good runs.... you shouldn't have burned out, i think that was a mistake. street tires perform better when tehir cool, drag slikcs perform better when they are hot. everybody else burns-out because they probably have drag slicks... guys with street tires doing it are most likely doing it because they see everybody else doing it. 15 psi was probably about right. and drag strips are slicker than regular roads, thats why your tractions sucked

thanks for the story!!

I've heard this before, but I've also heard to do it anyway to clean them off to get the pebbles and stuff off. I'm in the camp to clean them off personally, but it's not a strong opinion by any means.
