So a friend and I both got to talking... He wants to race his 06 mustang (v6) against my monte... the stang is completely stock and I have quite abit done now to my monte, so im curious. who do you think would win at a 1/4 mile?

 

The Stang should wax you. Weight is about the same, but his stock engine should be more powerfull with better transmission gears. I beleive that Mustangs are low 15 sec cars and the 3400's are mid 16's. Even with your mods I don't think you will hit 15's.

Only one way to find out though.

 

if you had the 3.8 you would give him a run for the money, but i think those mustangs weigh close to 4000 lbs, your monte only weighs around 3500.

 

Depending on the engine it is either 210 or 300 hpwith 240 or 320tq at 3,500 lbs - not 4,000 and does the quarter in the slow packagein 15.5.

vs 180 hp 205 tq with 3340 lbs. Even with the mods the MC will only be 200 hp

In either case the Mustang puts more power to the wheels and hence will win.

 

depends if he knows how to drive his mustang too. but i'd find out the hard way. only way to go.

Hmmmm... Toughie.. I think It might be a tie, or close.. monte is lighter, mustang has more stock hp and probably a 5 speed.. Oof.. Really close.. Give er end hand us the results. [sm=yeahsmile.gif]

 

I've whoop on a couple myself but 3.9, 242HP. The 3.8for sure would give it a run for it's money. With your mods if your close to the 200hp mark youmight be able to run him down if he can't drive.There not really thatfast, my friend beata couplein his 94Sonoma 4.3Land he has very minor things done to it, but he also gave my 96 Firebird, V6 a run for it's money and can chirp the tireswhen going into 2nd.

 

well, as of right now we plan on doing it later in the week... I live in SD so a "legal" track isnt readily avalible. where planning on taping it, and possibly have one kid (whos very good at driving motorcycle) have a helmet camera on, and drive behind us on his bike. plus, put a camera at the end taping the finish in case it is THAT close. Im sure it will make its way in here... plus, then you can hear my car!
