Hey, the Fusions weren't meant to "go fast." But I've got to say, it's a LOT more comfortable inside than my Monte (and more buttons and ***** to play with)

Thanks for your reminder to `all. I wish I would have listened to my mentor's that taught me not 2 I had to learn it the hard (like many youths that don't listen)way when I was caught street racing . No one, or no car was injured, just my bank account : ( & it took a big hit: )
It happened in my late teens & I'm still paying for higher insurance because of it...It won't go down until I'm 25

I'm thankful that no one was hurt or cars damaged during my
crazy teens....Yes, I am a true believer in "Taking it 2 the Track `if you really want to Race" I still `do want 2 Race : )

Sometimes we learn as we travel our `Journey of Life, but some never `do....Be Safe out there 4-Sure....
Thanks everyone for your super contributions to the MCF
Peace`Out from `Space

You will hardly ever see me street race. Doing it down my road was something I would probably never do again, just because the simple fact a guy was killed at the beginning of the year this year trying to race his Trailblazer with a mustang and he wrapped it around the pole.

If you are going to race take it to the local raceway. There are just too many variables outside of your control when you race on the street. It only takes one mishap to ruin your whole day...or the rest of your life. I have lost two very good friends to street racing. One of them had someone pull out from a side street in front of him. The impact instantly killed him, the person that pulled out in front of him and their 6 year old child. The second mishap occurred when a front tire blew out (ran over something in the street) and the car flipped multiple times. He survived, but the accident killed his girlfriend.

Most raceways set at least one night a week aside for "grudge races". As long as your vehicle meets safety standards you can race. If a mishap does occur, there is medical staff standing by. You have to pay a few bucks at the gate, but it is well worth it. Besides, you can let all your friends know you are racing and they can watch you blow away your competition.

Street racing is very dangerous. Every time you do it you are taking a risk with your own life, the life of your passengers and that of everyone else on the road.
Agreed. I don't know about everyone elses area, but in the last 2 years cruisenights have popped up every where around me..The two local tracks do them twice a week and they are real cheap. Track isn't the best prepped but still it's cheap and theres plenty of hondas, VWs to beat up on..5 Dollars, completely legal, and you get times and speeds..decent deal if you ask me.

I think of it this way..Is it really worth it to pay a fine, go to jail, lose your car etc(or worse), just to beat a v6 fusion(or any car really)?

Like I said this isn't something I do all the time, we all have our moments, none of us can sit here and say "I've never street raced" we all have at some point, it was nothing that was planned out, I didn't know the guy, hell if he wouldn't have kept inching forward at the light and giving me the Fast and Furious look then I wouldn't have ever even considered racing him.

And why is it that everyone can post their kill story about how they street raced someone and beat them but when I post something I get ragged on about how I am going to kill myself, or I am gonna go to jail or something ridiculous?

"JW", they do it to all us young'in's Cause they've been on the highways longer then us & want to share their wisdom, experiences and that they care....
I wish I would've listens to my elders & what they taught me, but I didn't & had to learn the hard way...

We all have the choice to race someone or not, even if we know the consequences....To me it's all about learning as we travel our journey's of life.....
I'm thankful we have member's that take the time to post/share....It's our decision if we take their advise of not.
It's not personal or an attack on you 4-Sure....

PeaceOut from Space
