RE: average 1/4 mile time of a s/c monte?
i thought traction control was designed to reduce acceleration not to use brakes (since braking in no traction situations would only exacerbate the situation...) ... that's why i figured WOT with TT would be best: let the computer run everything acceleration and just hold on!
maybe a 14.5 in my future then? (less after the 3.4" swap...)

when Traction control is active and sences wheel spin... it reduces power thru removing ignition timing and ther is a delay for your timing to return to normal... this is why people remove/ disable TC. ive never heard of TC using braking power ot stop the slip. you might be thinking of ABS.
deff the best times are with TC OFF! if you learn to launch your car you can get a very good hard launch and not need TC. the idea is to gas it just up to the point where the wheels will spin... this is where learning yoru car plays a big part of runing it.
