I just got a 2004 monte carlo SCJr edt. about a month ago and around may my dad just bought a 2008 G6 GXP with the 3.6 vvt. I want to race him some time but it my take some talking to get him to. Anyways who would win hes got about 12 hp on me and about 75k miles his is a 4 door so i hope mabe a weight advantage and i got about 30 trorque.His is also a bump shift but anybody think i should bet some money?

 

Put on a CAI and 3" downpipe with hi-flow cat and you will get him easy.

 

Get this or the equivalent from other sights and you can tell dad to suck it.

I'm roughly at Stage 5 right now. I would recommend only getting a 3.5 pulley though unless you have a scanner. Also if you can, find someone near you and pay them for the reprogramming/tuning of the car instead of the $100 canned pcm. You will be much happier.

Going off that, just try to find a tuner in the area and they may be able to help you just by dialing the car in better.

 

Your Monte is a little lighter in weight, but the G6 GXP has more power. Going stock versus stock, I think it would be the better driver getting the win. Would be really close.

it would be a good race for sure but i think stock for stock he might edge you by a fender if that. But if you got a good intake for your car and a Downpipe you would have no problem taking him i would think.

 

If it's off the line... L67 will take down the 3.6 until 75mph, that's if both drivers have the same launch.

I'll put my money down on the driver in that case.

If it's on the highway, there's no driving skill... mash the pedal, car goes forward. VVT will take the Monte from a 60mph roll.
