seeing your car is black is a good thing. there is no blend required on black so you can just repaint the panels that need to be repaired

thats saves alot on paying to have adjacent panels for better color match. just give the other panels a clear coat glaze polish afterwards to bring the shine back to better the newly painted panels

I've actually started the claims process...
but
I'm getting the work done by hamline auto body (they did a good job on my car before ;])

In the end I'm forking out a grand in deductables but the work they estimated over 2000$

I had my car estimated for a complete paint job at the local Chevy dealer. This is just a re-paint with no dents, but some slight dings. Black with clear coat, new emblems, door moldings, silver underneath. Basically just going back 100% stock. The paint and body manager is my next door neighbor and was the one that quoted it.

3K was the price. I thought it wasn't too bad even knowing that I would never get that kind of money out of a resell. But because I have no intentions of reselling it I may just go ahead and do it.

I have seen Macco paint jobs and although they are half and one third cheaper I would never do this to a car. At least the ones in my area remind me of the old Earl Shibe jobs back in the 70's and 80's.
