I'm betting that's the original color. It's always best to keep vintage cars as close to stock as possible.

 

have your tried a little bit on each panel? i'm just afraid your going to hit the door,quarter or trunk and BAM diff color or some bondo

 

bud i havent even got the paint yet.my plan has changed.Im gonna take the black all off,primer the whole car top and all.get the red respray the whole car minus roof.then get some gloss black and shoot the roof black.
changed my mind because the paint is 40 yrs old at least and the sun and weather has changed it that slight amount to not match to the same color code perfect.so its goin to be the same red.just new.

 

so here is the update on what i have gotten done so far."and while i was working on it today,i rememberd there is nothing on the how to section for 1st gens,so as im taking panels/parts off im goin to document it all never know,might need it in the future also lol" well here are a few photos. i have found the 1st rust hole on the car.hoperfully the last."there are about 10-14 pics,so itll be a 2 poster
