I have the upgrade LS five star rims on my 02 and would like to keep them but this past winter was a b---h lol. I got stuck and kept spinning and when I washed it I noticed that my rim was trashed . What can I do to fix the finish besides spending a fortune on new rims?

 

rims are not easy to refinish on your own......tried to refinish mine on my 02 ss......they didn't come out to bad....anyways i put them on my impala for the winter....but next time i would take to a refinisher

 

What exactly is the problem.. Embedded dirt, corrosion, peeling etc..

 

Hello i Kinda have the same problem with My o5 Stock SS rims. I bought 18"Dip rims and I wanna fix mine up I have a Idea already on how im going to do it but If some one has other ideas IM ALWAYS ears for a easeir Way...

My rims. The face of rim Is Almost Mint (Chrome part)(center caps 2 have a scratch) MAIN Problem: The inside where all brake fluid and dust ends up is Pealling and corrosion.. 2 rims about 1/4 of its has pealled off. and the other 2 just starting in some spots...

My fix: I was thinking of First Ovisly Clean Rims reall Good. Mayby take schotch pad to in inside too the corosion, peal Most of the tin or whaat ever it is off all the loose stuff.. then i was gonna find some Alluminized glue and just cover hole inside of the rim not to thick.. or maybe using SEAL ALL but that could get $$$ lol..

any other idea for me WOULD BE GREAT ALSO thanks.... this is my summer project

 

Well the rims look good from a ways back but when you get close the one that spun in the snow bank I landed in looks like somebody took fine sand paper and randomly scrubbed on it. The silver paint on the inside edges of the spokes is flawless. The center caps are good too. lohey are close to new looking so that's what breaks my heart lol. Id actually like to find like an 04-05 set. Not ss but the silverish 5 star pattern. I can't explain lol
