Default Reverse Lights

Hey everyone,
So ever since I have had my 02 monte, my right reverse light has been dimmer than the left reverse light. I told my friend that I was just going to buy a new bulb but he said that buying a new build wouldn't fix that problem. He said something is causing interference and thats why the light is dim.

What do you guys think?

why not try a new bulb? You may have an electrical issue but you won't know until you try new bulbs. replace them both at the same time.

sounds like he may just be trying to act like he knows something more than you lol, i'd just try to replace them, if anything you can check a fuse for them first

New Bulb = Cheap First Shot
If the price is that concerning, swap the bulbs and see what happens. My guess, the bulb is toast. He may be right, but it's worth the new bulb to find out. I believe they are powered off the same wire (definitely the same circuit). There really is not much else at play.

You could just swap the bulbs, and if the dimming moves then it's the bulb.

Agreed with Chibi here. No cost and it narrows it down perfectly if its the bulb or not

When I've had this problem on older vehicles it was caused by a bad ground.

X2

Either that or a poor contact in the socket due to dirt/corrosion.
