Well guys, I am on my way - as you can see the frame has been delivered to Paul's in Salt Lake as well as the RHS block. Matt has a few projects he has to complete first before he really gets into the meat of my project. I guess from what he says it will be about a month before he starts on it. The frame will be primed first with weld through primer. I am not entirely sure about the steps to disassemble the donor car but as I get more info on that I will pass it along. Greg Hubbs (Zippy02) has been gracious enough to do all the previous posts in this thread and as we go I am sure he will have a first hand look at what is going on and will pass it along - I owe him a great deal of gratitude for helping me out and keeping everyone here updated.
Matt, you asked about some details - here's a little insight.
Block: RHS Aluminum LS9 tall deck - 454
Diff: 9" Ford (3:73)
Trans: Allison (3:20 first gear)
Pwr Add: Whipple supercharger (size TBD)
Frt Susp: Type C-6
Steering: Manual - Electric Asst.
Frame: 4 x 2 x .1875 Welded Rectangular Tubing P&O
Wheels: 18" Forgeline (style TBD)
Tires: Rear M/T 335 DR - Front 235 M/T Rad
Donor Car: To be repainted '02 Monte Mid-night Blue
Donor Car: To be fitted with all factory '06/'07 SS fascia front, sides & back including steering wheel. Only the VIN will be the give away that it is not a real factory SS
Instrumentation: Dakota (tentatively)
Safety: Full Cage
Fuel, Cooling: ??
Exhaust: Jardine - same as my '07

I am sure things will change as they go - but this should give you an excellent idea what direction I am going in. Thanks

That frame looks really strong and the donor car looks in good shape as well. I really can't wait to see it all come together, especially having that at least 1000 horsepower.

Mel: On a project like this, like my last build you really can't budget - you just confront the expense as they happen. Everything is a work in progress with many unexpected cost issues. As they arise I just deal with them. However I can tell you that I waited a long time to put these cars together and I have worked with the shop on a pay as I go plan that works well for the both of us. Its not a question - did I save enough - its can I earn enough during the project to cover my costs and so far I have succeeded at doing just that.

David (StumpMI): We live so close we have to make a point of getting together sometime this year. My'06 won't be complete - so my '07 is my only option at this time. Stay in touch. SAM

Ya know ive alwasy been curious about this subject. Ive also heard of people using holden/G8 or camaro/firebird chasis for making the w-body a RWD unibody design, But converting a unibody monte to a full frame? Thats just bad ***! Cant wait to see updates on this, all the power to ya!

Sam do you plan on having the 07 MC at the W-body Meet this summer in Michigan? I would love to see it if I make the trip from Iowa.
