Curious, what are the small posts for? I see them whenever I see body work or sheet metal work.

To be honest - I think it is to position the sheet metal and hold it in place as a precursor to welding or riveting. But I am not entirely sure - I am sure someone on this forum could tell you exactly.

Jeff - I found it - Sarmento Racing - Yuba City - I think it is near Sacramento California.

Where are you working?

My suggestion would be if you are close and would like to see my car - I would call first and make an appointment - I know he has had some power outages and the usual air quality problems - it would be wise to call first - You can find the number on google I am sure.
Sam

Clecos. As Sam noted, its for holding sheet metal in place before permanent fasteners are installed.

They are invaluable for any shop doing sheet metal work, especially in confined areas like this where you could never get clamps on the edges. Some guys use them everywhere as there's no chance for lateral slippage like there is with an improperly adjusted clamp.

Jeff: My hope is to have Sarmento done with the sheet metal and cage in the next few weeks (maybe 2 months max) and then it's back to Utah to finish the car.
But as you know things don't always go as planned or anticipated. Thanks for the interest. Sam

It appears I just duplicated what I already had - I lost my computer at home due to a basement flood and now I am trying to upload some firewall pictures that are new and of course - this computer at work is not cooperating - I will continue to try. SAM
