Por 15 on Brake Drums

Por 15 on Brake Drums
Has anyone used Por 15 on high temp parts? I constantly battle the rust on my brake drums. They always look like poo. I have to paint them every season with new high temp black spray paint. By the next season, they are all crusty and rusty again. I used some por 15 on my rust repair project on the quarter panel and I was impressed with the process. I am thinking about getting some more and attacking some of the other rusty areas of my car under the hood, and the brake drums and other visible areas.
Thoughts?

I will be using Por 15 to paint my rotors (the centers, not the surface area that touches the brake pads). I think they should hold up. But you can use caliper paint to paint the drums like the G2 kit. That will probably give you the best protection.

I was going to use POR15 on the hats of my Monte rotors, but a friend talked me out of it due to concern of high temp issues. When I did paint my new rotors, I prepped the painted surface with the POR15 metal prep and then spray painted with high temp black.
Honestly, when I looked it up, I should have gone the POR15 route, it has a fairly high tolerance. Just make sure NOT to paint any surface the pads or shoes contact (as my experience with POR15, says that is cause for braking problems). ALos make sure to use their metal prep spray. Lastly, POR15 informs if the surface is going to be exposed to UV light to top coat with another paint (as UV light can cause it to discolor, but it will still protect the metal).

Amy, I thought about the G2 kit but I think the main issue I'm having is the drums are rusty which makes the paint not stick well.
Thanks Jason I was hoping you would comment. Por 15 top coated with a high temp paint sounds like the best bet. I'm only planning on doing the drums for now so no need to worry about interfering with the pads. I need to pick up some more of the por 15 system. I'll let you know how it goes when I try it.

Make sure to remove any/all loose debris off the drums. Matter of fact, it might be worth pricing brand new drums to work with (as they come unpainted, coated in oil, so clean the oil off and it's a perfect surface to work with).
No matter what you decide, I am sure POR15 will do better for those drums

Sand as much rust off as you can, wash the rotor with soap and water then wipe it down with paint prep.
Then use this
Eastwood Rust Converter | Rust Converters | Auto Rust Converter
Followed by this
Eastwood Ceramic Brake Caliper Paints
I've used that method on drums, calipers, battery trays, brackets, etc. over the years and never had a problem with rust returning. The finish is also very resistant to chipping.
