Question Painting Stock ground effects

i have a midnightblue 01 SS , and on looking to paint the ground effect red. but i have never worked with auto paint before. any tips our ideas on doing this?

I don't think it's a good idea to paint something exterior on your car if you have never worked with auto paint before. It's a lot of work, especially if you are doing all of the ground effects.

If you are going to do it yourself.. take the time in the prep work. Get the parts sanded well and cleaned thoroughly before you spray them.

My body guy did mine - he told me he would NOT sand them because the plastic will easily gouge. He sprayed something on them to make the paint adhere to the plastic - then painted and cleared them. You won't see the "texture" once it's painted so you don't need to sand them smooth.
