Newest Edition to my Monte AKA the "Punisher SS"
I'm pretty sure that's what is used to install it at the factory as well. The reason most install it this way and the factory as well, because during windshield or back glass replacement those rails need to be lifted sometimes to accommodate. If it's epoxied....good luck. Not only that but let me know how your paint feels after removal.

but also, the double sided tape is too bulky and can sometimes make them look weird, his is a tutorial written up by a well respected member here and pretty good friend of mine.

for most of them they weren't even taped, they were screwed from the inside.

sorry dont mean to be rude but dont double sided tape it.
remove the stock rails and use two things of epoxy, use one thing of epoxy on each side and then place the rails in the grove applying pressure until the epoxy dries.
double sided tape brings the risk of them being able to get lose and just fly off whereas the epoxy will make a strong bond and you wont have to worry about it

OP just use double sided tape it's cheaper, easier, cleaner to use. Plus I hope if you do use epoxy that you are aware that you are also expoxying both windshield/windshield moldings in.
