I agree with removing the bowtie, it was actually the first thing I took off of mine (for the stripes).

Default emblems........

....That does'nt look too bad but you may want to keep those
emblems ( badges ). Would the engine heat mess up the emblems on the strut tower brace ?
By the way. Do you like the SLP CAI unit ?

Actually with how easy it was to remove the trunk badge I'm thinking of shaving the sides too. Still like the bowtie so I think I'll keep that but the sides on the next day that I have some spare time are getting shaved I think.

Chibi, I was sort of worried about the color being diferent under the badges but figured with a silver car how bad could it be, but yours being a couple of years older and MUCH darker are you concerned? Might be kind of sharp actually sort of ghost emblems, well that is until you repaint it.

I kind of like the red outline, now the 06s & 07s have that HUGE truck grille gold one, yeah that one would be gone, as a matter of fact it's just a matter of time till I shave the one off of the Impala. I'm trying to get a 50TH Anniversary badge to replace that one.

Not sure about the engine heat, the decals haven't suffered but who knows. I'm probably not going to put them there, will hold on to them until they get in the way. I have no plans to show the car so I really don't need to dress up under the hood. The CAI... I love the howl, but to be honest my SOTP dyno can't tell the diff. And since I put it in when they switched from summer to winter blends of gas my mpgs are just about the same. I wish it had more intake area, the front is closed off for teh PCM only open on the fender side, I'm sure there is a difference in both performance and mileage just that I can't point to any real numbers. However the howl is pretty much worth the money I spent anyhow!

Everything looks really nice. I'd leave the bowtie on the back.

Thanks guys! Michael I might just put it in storage and just by chance I ever do enter it in a show I'll get some cheap double sided tape (like the tape used for X-mas presents to tack it in place until the show is done.

Update, wasn't anything on TV so the driver side is now shaved too.

Not gonna post full size but can look at the link. Don't think smaller pics would show up as well.
Before clay: That's a lot of dirt!
After clay: Purty!

Took just about an hour, give or take from my deciding to do it to coming back in the house. Took quite a bit more time and effort then the trunk... never really realized just how L-O-N-G that emblem was before!

I'm kind of liking this mod, cheap and easy!

thats a good idea for the slp stickers on you STB. i got three of them, not really a sticker person, but wanted to use them.

by the way i have no idea why they gave me 3 stickers, did they really think that i was going to put all 3 on there. lol

Ordered from them twice and got 2 both times, put one on my lunch box (colors matched) and then that one. I'm not into the whole sticker scene either but thought there it would be kind of discreet and different. Plus it's right above the SLP CAI.
