Exclamation Lightweight OEM body parts?

Any Monte's come with alum or light weight panels? I have heard of some Olds and Buicks with alum hoods radiator supports, etc. Anyone ever heard if any of it found it's way to the Montes on any years? Thanks. JIm

I dont think there were any "lightweight" panels for these cars. I dont think anything can be considered lightweight about these cars.

Cant really say that, they weigh about 3400 lbs right. Thats very light compared to some of the new cars. The only think I could see lightening is the trunk and mabye a carbon fiber hood. and mabye lightening the doors a bit. Other than that, you have to strip the interior.

Depending what year/car you have- the 00+ montes/impalas came with an aluminum cradle.

Also, if you have a 5th gen- there are a lot of body parts available in fiberglass/cf that are used on drag cars (also light replacement glass pieces too). The only bad thing about the front piece is that many of them are extended 8-10" for the RWD setups the drag cars use.
