let me start by sayin hello, my name is liam, i live in manhattan ks, have a gold 98 monte ls, and am an active member of mymonte.com, and wanted to expand my activity to montecarloforums because you guys seem to have a pretty good forum going, but enough about that, here's my question

i'm slowly redoing the entire look of my car, and plan to add a hood with FUNCTIONING scoops, so far, talking to shop owners, it seems that i'll either have to buy a 500$ cowl hood i don't even like, fiberglass one, or get a junk hood, put a scoop on it, cut it, gasket it, and then get it painted. i think that the last is what i plan to do on mine... has anyone done this or have ideas on how? i talked to amexcreuse on mymonte a while ago, and he hinted at trying a ws6 hood iirc.... there are two particular hoods i'm completely in love with, the GTP hood, and these kind of split down the middle scoops off of old muscle cars

what year is your car? the last hood is an amx scoop. im running one on my 80. the only advice i can really give is that if your not good at bodywork dont try and blend the scoop into the hood. im not good at bodywork so i speak from experience.

So far I've only found one site with the functional dual ram air hood but they say it's still under development. Not sure if they're selling it yet or not, but the web site doesn't even give a price.
