Painting behind the grill is what's stopping me from installing my SLP grill too.

I've seen all the pics both painted black and not. I've even temporarily taped my SLP grill onto my car to see how bad it would look with the red visible. I know it looks better with the area painted flat black.

It's just like you said. Painting the area black is permanent, and the grill is a stick on. If the grill ever gets broken, falls off, or I decide to take it off, I have to get the bumper cover/grill re-painted red.

I'll do it eventually, but just got to work up the nerve. Plus I also have other priorities to take care of first.

what about covering the area that you would normally paint with a flat black or black vinyl? if you get tired of it just peel it off.

I wouldnt worry about painting behind the grille. Once you put the grille on you will never want to take it off. It makes that much difference in the look of the car.

Know of any places that wrap cars? As in vinyl wrap.....they can hook you up with some black vinyl to put behind there...that's what i'm gonna be doing.

exactly, and if you cant paint pretty well it wouldnt be hard to sand that part down and put a coat of your color down to make it match again if you dont like it
