There's a great amount of information about detailing products there. Colored waxes usually aren't the best. If rock chips show after paint correction, then they need to be fixed up professionally
Also a great forum for auto paint care is autogeek.net. Worth giving them a look if you want to really start getting into full detailing of your own cars

As Mike kind of stated, if something shows up through normal waxing there is usually another issue that needs to be addressed.
If you have rock chips, look into Dr. ColorChip. It's actually a good little product for the price.

And older car is going to have rock chips and surface scratches.
If its anything like my cars, its gets driven, in all conditions.
A good temporary fix up is Turtle Wax Black Ice. It's detailer wax for black trim and plastic. Its the very best thing for the GM Semi-gloss Black they painted mirror housing and trim with. If you already have white wax in those chips, cracks and crevices, you need to clean that out before applying the black detailer.
I know Mothers & Maguire's make a Black detailer as well, and I've seen other brands, but they are more for plastic and trim.
I just looked up black ice, good review, but the new version is called Jet Black.
