They would be at first, and then filled in, sanded, and painted with the entire hood.

Be careful doing that method, with temperature changes it can crack and separate.

Thanks for your opinions here guys. As I have said, I am going to be putting a different hood on one day, but for now I do not have the money to do that. I can paint the scoops myself and put on for under 100 bucks. A hood to be painted and all will be around 500 at best. I personally think that the silver will look good since it will match the decals on side and the ground effects. I can get the paint for 15 bucks from advanced auto in the same color code.

spray can paint match will not be a match, you will also have to wet sand and clear them and buff them to get the finish thats on the car.

chibi, they make stuff to mold plastic/ fiberglass to metal so it doesnt crack but that stuff is super expensive. (thats what i used on my hood and itt has not cracked yet and been done for 2yrs and seen many 130-140mph pulls etc)

Oh trust me, I know it can be done as it is done, but doing it on the cheap is usually a crack point.

The dual scoop hood might look something like this hood. Its a grand prix SD hood(functional). I was thinking of having it fitted to the monte but instead got a mpd1 hood. Maybe if you go with the two hood scoops you could paint it all yellow with silver grill inserts to match your silver decals. That may look better or not who knows just a thought. Good luck

First, asking for opinions, everyone has them.

Second, if the end goal is to get an actual hood, I agree save the money. But I see the itch is to do something to be different and stand out. My thought/opinion, instead of focusing on hood scoops that you ultimately plan to toss away (so that's $100 planned to be gone anyways), look at other mods. Paint the lower grill, find an SLP upper grill (may be a bit hard these days), paint/plasti-dip something custom on the current hood. But the focus is to look for something you don't plan to upgrade, it would be something you plan to keep.

There was an active member on the forum that did the same thing you are thinking to his monte, his name on the forum is crusader and he has a white monte with the dual hood scoops, I will see if I can find his garage and post a link so you will know exactly what it looks like

I'd upgrade those stock wheels before I spent money on body modifications...
