the way i did it ended up just being easier for me, i'm considering doing it the color of the car now, or doing and eyelid combo with it, just gotta find the time to mock it up

It's extremely difficult to crack our headlights open.
I've never done the 6th gen headlights but i did take my 7th gen's off/apart and painted the insides so if ya need help just let me know. . . i did a write up on here a while ago, but can't find it right now

I cut mine open becasue our headlights are plastic welded. Which is why the oven method WILL NOT work for the 00-05 oem headlights. But I hear that the aftermarket headlights for the 00-05 headlights can be opened either with a heat gun or the oven method.

When I cut open my oem headlights it took me about an hour on each headlight to cut open and gut, to make room for projectors. Very hard to do but I did it there is one area that I had to be very harsh to get the lense seperated. But when the headlight is sealed back up there wont be any issue with visibility or sealing issues.

Speaking of your projectors, whats the status on them? I am very anxiouse to see the finished product. As is everyone else.

What sucks is I decided to wait to buy mine and now I have the ones with the amber on the side :-( Still look good on my car though.
