I suffer the horrible young peer pressure to be tan so I go out of my way to expose myself (don't take that the wrong way) to get tan. I'm too poor to go to a tanning booth anymore so I haven't done that in well over a year. Over the summer I try to lay out whenever I can and do whatever I can outside to get tan and naturally bleach highlighted blond hair but I'm trying to be more conscious about putting on sun tanning lotion. A lot of time I wouldn't put it on as much so I could get more exposed and more tan, even though usually I burned most the time before I turned tan. Soo yeah I wont be shocked if I get skin cancer when I get older but I get checked at least once a year for it and get anything removed that looks suspicious. && I use that stuff with zinc in it since I have really sensitive skin and it works great so far

In the interest of full disclosure: I was slightly disappoint that this thread was neither about sex nor guns.
LOL... Sorry to disappoint you. But you have to admit the title did get your attention.

I meant to mention about having anything that looks suspicious or different checked as soon as you can in my OP. That was why the one on my ear had spread like it did - because I didn't think it was a big deal and let it go too long before seeing a doctor about it.

The website for The Skin Cancer Foundation is very helpful for getting info about the different types of skin cancer (including photos so you know what to look for), advice about sunscreen, etc.

I've sunburned only a few times in my life... I'm not exaclty dark skinned, but I don't think I'm prone to burning either. My girlfriends roommate is the tanning one. The girl goes to 3 tanning beds a day sometimes, and will then lay out in the sun for a few hours. Her skin is roughly the same paint code as the General Lee, and this dumb b*tch will tease people who aren't tan... girl is also a size 18, weighs atleast 250 lbs. So whatever.

My girlfriend has been to a tanning bed 3 times, as she was trying to tan up for Juinor Prom in high school... she regrets every bit of it. She's very obsessive about her skin and absolutely refuses to tan, no matter what kind of pressure anyone puts on her. I've never thought tan made anyone look better anyway. Besides, Edwards Cullen brought pale back.
