I have slowed down as I have gotten older and a little wiser (I am only 21, lol). My first car was an 86 Camaro Z28. I hot footed it pretty good. My MSRT is way faster than that, but the price of gas has my foot off the pedal more now. I got my first ticket the other day. I was going 80 in a 65. I didn't notice I was going that fast. I pulled over immediately as I saw the lights. I told the officer what happened and he reduced my ticket to faulty equpiment or something and didn't report it to the insurance. I normally go right at the speed limit to 5 over.

radar win. i have mine hard wired.

The interstate system shouldn't have a speed limit except in and around metro areas

In my state, i'd like to see the limits as a whole minus city speed limits raised 10

Sounds like some of you would have liked the Montana of hte late 90's... speed limit was "reasonable and prudent" during fair weather and day time driving. Close enough to South Dakota there I suppose.

And Space, your wit never ceases to amaze me... .but I don't have too many of those underwear stains since I gave up wood drifting and street racing.

Vermont needed to raise the speed limits. The interstates were stuck at between 55 and 65 depending on where you are. In inclement weather that was too fast but when the roads are clear 70-75 is fine.

Here in Florida I mostly drive the speed limit. Most of I-4 that I travel is 70 and I set the cruise at that and leave it till I get off of 4. It droops to 65 outside of Disney but at 70 I'm still being passes regularly. On the secondary roads there are too many hazards so I obey the speed limit although sometimes I forget when it drops low. Florida cops seem to think that traffic enforcement is all they have to do and it fills the state coffers. Florida cops can't seem to get a handle on the violent crime here but they can write a pretty mean speeding ticket.

I also keep the speed limit because the vans don't suck the gas so bad at 70 but if I bump it up to 75 or above it sucks the gas.

90% of the time I go the speed limit, gas is too expensive to waste by speeding.

My fuel economy increases 2-3MPG if I stay at 70 or below.

The only time I ever speed is if someone wants to race.
