No sales acceleration



"The Oprah Winfrey Show" garnered lots of publicity -- and some enthusiastic new fans -- when it gave away new cars to all 276 members of its studio audience one day in September 2004.

The marketing stunt cost General Motors $7 million and generated a lot of buzz for Winfrey and her show. But it did not translate into sales for the car in question, the 2005 Pontiac G6.
Trade magazine Automotive News reported that sales of the car in the first five months of 2005 were down compared with the car it had replaced, the Pontiac Grand Am. And overall Pontiac sales fell 22.8% in the first two months of that year.

Just because Oprah's name is in something, it doesnt mean that its going to sell like hotcakes. How about:

Oprah Crack pipes?
Oprah's Pawn and Gun shop?

I dont think i would want to buy anything from her.

 

IDK... if Oprah had a crack pipe, I think it would be pretty good.

You see how she acts on her show sometimes?

 

The few times that i HAVE watched her show, she looks like she had just sucked on the pipe.

 

Maybe if she had some type of crack pipe contest, and the winner would win a one year supply of Oprah's crack, and get to help design her new lineup of crack pipes!!

 

 

I find the G6 a decent car, Pontiac needs to get their head out of the clouds and sell cars at human prices though. I think same needs to go for may of the automakers. Some cars are 30k+ and they don't even throw in a garage door opener.

 

My two cents the woman deserves to spend the remainder of her natural life in a cell.

But that's just my opinion.
